Resilient Network

This interactive installation challenges you to create a resilient network, by trial and error you discover what this means. You create a network by connecting multiple lamps to a power source. The less collapses the more resilient your network is. This translates into how we can make systems like our energy production and food distribution more resilient and thus more sustainable.

ShadowFighter

ShadowFighter is a real-life fighting game in which you use your actual shadow to fight an opponent. Players, young trough old, simply jump in and play. It’s easy to learn and with some tactics you can take the upper hand.
It’s a physical game like you haven’t seen before.

Finite Racetrack

Finite Racetrack is an altered toy racetrack, made to convey a concept. It challenges you to drive 10 laps as quickly as possible. Racers are presented with a dilemma, as they are using the same battery - they have to balance their usage to reach the end. But... what will happen when one of them won't? It's the Tragedy of the Commons, simplified.

The Lightgun

In this project we were challenged to seduce households into a more sustainable lifestyle. We designed a gun that can shoot off lights. The idea is to make turning off lights more fun and by doing that, make people save energy.

The Norbits

The Norbits are little peaceful creatures that want to get to the Gadget conference. To get there you have to help them overcome a few obstacles. You can help these virtual Norbits by using typical physical objects in there small virtual world. Our goal was to get people thinking different, by using regular object in a different way.

The Beating Heart

With this beating heart we wanted to communicate to the travelers on train station Utrecht CS that they are essential to the station. The heart will beat faster or slower depending on the amount of travelers that walk by, giving the experience that they are like the blood of the station. The heart consists of a physical stylized heart shape and a beating heart sound.

Galaxian

This is an alternative version of one of the early arcade games; Galaxian. In this version you have to protect an actual planet and you have a few allies to help you.

The project was focused on development, so it was created entirely with code (proper OOP ActionScript 3.0). The design has been improved by a lot of play testing, but of course I wish I had more time.

So what do you think?

This installation, designed for events like Lowlands to encourage discussions. It's a audio visual forum. It starts with one statement and everyone can easily record there own opinion about it. One of the key elements is that there is a hierarchy in the posts, people can respond to specific people's opinions.

Paul Arden

These Paul Arden posters are centered arround his great quotes. The assignment was to create one informative poster, but following his "Whatever you think, think the opposite" message we aimed to do something different. We created 6 posters and a seperate big quote instead to make his message even clearer.
